Mattresses to Avoid

Stack of four white mattresses with one leaning.

Avoid ultra-cheap boxed beds containing loose fiberglass fire socks (common in budget brands), low-density poly foams under 1.8 lbs per cubic foot that sag quickly and entry-level value lines from major traditional brands that cut corners on coil counts and support.

Materials & Construction to Avoid:

  • Fiberglass inner socks: Budget imported memory foam brands often use cheap fiberglass as a fire retardant. If the outer cover tears or is unzipped, fiberglass shards can escape and infiltrate your home.
  • Low-density poly foam: Foam measuring less than 1.8 lbs/cu. ft. lacks durability and will develop body impressions and can cause back pain within a few years.

Product Types & Brands to Approach with Caution:

  • Ultra-budget bed-in-a-box brands: Extremely cheap online options (under $200–$300 for a queen) frequently rely on mystery foams and hidden fiberglass.
  • Aggressive online complaint magnets: In 2026, brands like Nectar and DreamCloud settled a $9 million class-action lawsuit concerning consumer complaints about fiberglass fire barriers. While some legacy online mattress brands have faced massive class-action lawsuits over hidden                             fiberglass and material changes, we believe in complete transparency. Every single mattress we sell is 100% fiberglass-free and certified by independent laboratories.
  • Entry-level "Value" lines from big brands: The cheapest promotional models from major legacy manufacturers often feature low-grade coils and filler foams that soften prematurely.

Our mattresses come with 10, 12 and 20-year warranties from manufacturers that have been making mattresses for over 25 years and utilize CertiPUR-US® certified polyurethane foam and ISO 9001 quality management systems.

  • CertiPUR-US® Certified: Made without ozone depleters, PBDEs, TDCPP, or TCEP flame retardants.
  • Low VOC Emissions: Formulated for indoor air quality, keeping your bedroom air fresh.
  • No Heavy Metals: Crafted without mercury, lead, or other heavy metals.
